What the Hizak????????? thor January 27, 2010 (12:57 PM) Could somebody please tell me why my cross country athletes
(both male and female) are getting letters from Coe and
getting called by recruiters from Coe and not
Wartburg????????
I don't honestly know if any of my athletes would end up
going to Wartburg or not, but Coe is sure a lot closer to
landing some of these athletes than Wartburg.
One of the greatest tools that Wartburg CC should be
utilizing is the high school coaches who once ran at
Wartburg. We, the coaches, should be the greatest spokesmen
(not spokester) for the school! | | lehmanhatesbaldorf January 28, 2010 (1:19 PM) We, too, have received numerous letters from Coe.
SajaPocapple, don't worry my kids just laugh at the letters
because they're pretty cheesey. We typically receive
letters from Wartburg about both running and HS camp. If
your kids are thinking about running say something to Coach
and he will call the kids and talk to them in person.
| pocohontas January 31, 2010 (10:22 PM) I will tell you why Kenny is getting letters...the cross
country coach at Coe loves recruiting out of state, waaay
out of state because they don't know about how poor of a
program she runs. When I was at Coe I recruited out of state
because I was a the distance coach of a track team but not
on the cc staff so I recruited to states who had sports
during the fall besides cross country like soccer that kids
did and then ran distance in the spring. It worked okay for
me, I had kids from Alaska, California, Colorado, but if you
are trying to recruit distance kids in state, we would lose
them as soon as they found out about the cc program. Look at
their roster, they have a ton of out of state kids (cross
country) there.
And yes, there recruiting things are cheesy with almost NO
stats, it is pretty funny.
Its pretty sad that you have to hide from your own
reputation.
No love lost for me at that school.
